A sleek white form moved through the dark, haunting pale blue eyes staring out of an ivory facade. Any sounds that would alert one of the creature's presence was muted by the snow that now fell around the creature, blending the wolf into the rest of the natural world. Winter was heavy upon the world, encasing the cliffs in the rich white snow, the same color of the arctic wolf's bodice, so only her eyes could be seen. She moved with an easy grace, kept warm and comfortable, even in the snow, with her long, thick fur. The wolfessa moved with ease through the snow, and ice, even as pale blue eyes sought the warmer air of a cave, and for a moment, she felt her eyes fall back into a different time, a different place. She could still see his looming shadow enter the cave, the way his eyes overpowered her, and she was left at his mercy to be claimed... But that was the past, nearly two years ago. And this was the present. The wolfessa shook out her coat, as her pale optics found a cave mouth set into the side of the cliff face, and after some nimble leaps and jumps, she was standing at the enterance of the cavern.
It didn't take much more then that, for the white she-wolf to slide out of the snow storm outside, and disappear into the black cave, her coat shining through the darkness, and giving away her position, not that she expected anyone to come through the cave, and see her in the first place. It wasn't as easy as one would expect, to reach the cave, and the only reason Heaven could, was because her breed was made for the snow, and ice. Her nails clicked lightly against the ground, their grayness a shade darker than that of the hide covering her sleek, feminine formation.
She yawned slightly, her lids falling to half mass, as she worked her way to the back of the cave, and lay down, her muzzle laying upon her front legs, and even as tired as she was, her body held a certain amount of alertness, and it was this alertness that made it obvious she wouldn't be sleeping any time soon. She fell silent, her eyes focussed on the opening, so that she would no the moment the weather let down, or the moment another entered her cavern.

The Royal Alpha had been wandering outside of his pack lands for quite a few hours now, and there were barely any signs of lupine life as the snow fell heavily, encasing the world around him in a blanket of soft white. It seemed magical, and soon the alpha had his head lifted towards the sky, letting the snowflakes land on his body, and welcoming the cold. Not that it should have been welcomed, as it meant that the smaller prey would be hiding away in their burrows. But there were always deer and other hoofed creatures to feast on. Besides, he was of an ancient arctic breed, who's fur was thick in the harsh and long northern winters and thin during the short summer. Along with that, his paws were perfect for running atop of the soft snow that most would sink in. But the days when those body parts were needed constantly were long gone, and the only reason he had even known about the importance of these body parts to his ancestors was through his father, and to him his father, and so on, the same for mother and daughter, and the tales of the snow packed lands that were full of prey and crisp, cold air, where packs of his ancestors ran freely under a distant sun, enjoying the hunt, howling under a bright night sky, which every year would light up for a short time with rivers of green and other colors, and their breaths turning into a milky white, and-
Shaking his head, the wolf reminded himself that those days were long over before he was even born, when the humans had taken over those lands, filling it with their strange creations. The past was nothing to dwell on, and besides, the wolves of his previous pack could never return to those places, because they had perished so long ago... Suppressing the depressing thoughts, he continued on, wearing his usual mask of mischievous optimism. Noticing a opening in the ground, the white wolf investigated, taking several cautious steps in. Something told him there was someone else here. The darkness in the cave was limiting his sight, and he never liked that. "Hello? Is anyone in here?" His voice echoed through it, and the wolf shivered at the thought of getting lost in this place.

The cold wind chilled the air, enough, at least, to have the wolfessa shivering slightly, as the cold wrapped it's fingers around her, stroking her coat, trying to push through the thick white fur that blocked it out. The snow swirled into the cave on the wings of the breeze, but remained unable to reach the white femme hidden in the shadows, at the back of the cave, and so the storm remained, luring the fae into a since of solitude, and comfort. It was then that her eyes closed, even as her ears remained poised, ready to take heed to any sound that might reach her ears. her body stationed in such a matter, to easily revert into a position better to defend herself. All small talents, and tricks she'd picked up during those few months of a slave, before someone had managed to rescue Heaven from the beast, killing him in the process. Heav still wasn't sure who it was that had been her rescuer, other than the tiny fact, that they'd disappeared with out a trace. She had no clue that it had been herself that had saved her, or at least a part of herself she knew nothing about. She was completely oblivious to the darkness with in her, that protected her like a parent would protect a pup. she was completely oblivious to Hell.
Pale blue eyes snapped open, as a soft sound reached her auds, obscured by the snow outside, muffling it. But, it sounded like something bounding through the snow. She slowly stood, keeping her form hidden among the shadows, as she saw a figure begin to emerge from the white snow, pawing it's way into the cavern that Heaven had hidden under. The moment his words swung out, she was shocked that he'd realized she was there. She let his words echo back to him, a moment, before she moved out of the dark shadows, her steps light and graceful, as her nails clicked softly against the hard rock. Her white form soon broke free of the shadows, as her pale blue eyes took in the sight of the larger wolf of her race. Damn she hated how much taller Arctic Males where, then Females. It always made her feel a tad sensitive. She stared upon the male, keeping her distance from him, her eyes guarded slightly, as she glanced over him, before soft lyri escaped her lips. "Who are you?" The question was well deserved, considering she, indeed, did not know the male. But she quickly made it into a polite statement, as she added in her soft, gentle tones. "I am called Heaven." Her name was only given to support her previous question, before she took a step back, putting a tad more space between herself and the male, and fell silent, before asking one more question, might as well get a conversation started, right. "Would I be wrong to assume that you, sir, are hiding from the onslaught of the winter storm outside, as well?" Another gust of winter wind burst through the mouth of the cave, wrapping around her and causing the fae to shiver slightly, even as the wind failed to penetrate her coat, and she looked back into the back of the cave, where the warmth resided. "Please, sir. It's warmer in the back of the cave... Care to join me, until the storm is over?"

So there was someone in here. That only helped prove that his instinct were never wrong. Another blast of wind ruffled his fur, but the thick fur of his white coat shielded him from the intense cold. It was, however, getting uncomfortable. Making an effort to be polite, he spoke "Forgive my intrusion, miss Heaven. My name is Loki" He said. Usually, his tongue was as sharp as the strange blades that humans crafted sometimes, but the storm outside was making him want somewhere to shelter, and though it seemed he could drive out the she-wolf if he wished, he was smart enough to know that bloodshed between brethren was never a good idea. He had learned from experienced the result of such a fight. All it did was drive wolves apart when they should be pulled together, to combine forces against a common enemy. But pulling himself out of his deep thoughts as the fae, invited him to join her in the warmth of the cave. "I'd be delighted to accept your offer" He said, giving his white pelt a small shake, and small pieces of snow gently drifted to the ground. Approaching, the brute walked casually, so as not to alarm the fae.

The white wolf was shocked to see another had found their way into her cave, already. But she wasn’t rude, or such, and was more than willing to share her current shelter, what with the storm raging outside. She nodded in response to his words, her pale blue eyes gentle, as a smile fell upon her features. ”It’s perfectly fine, sir. Think nothing upon your intrusion, especially with the weather as it is, outside. It’s a pleasure to meet you Loki.” She said, finishing her words, with a gentle, polite incline to her head, as she stepped back enough to give him more room. The wolfessa wasn’t one to keep another out in the cold, she had to large of a heart for that, and it showed as she smiled, offering him to join her in the warmer parts of the cave, as she herself, slipped back into the shadows, and once more laid down among the rocks and pebbles, her thick fur keeping her warm, and from feeling any of the pebbles that might want to bite into her. She shrugged her shoulders, in response to his acceptance, her words again, soft and gentle, the natural way in which Heaven spoke to everyone. Never a rude word to say, ”Well, I’d never be one to force another out into that storm. Especially with some much room in the cave.” She responded, politely, as she once more lay her head upon her forepaws, her tongue sneaking out to lick at one of her forelegs, as she allowed the large male to settle himself in, before she glanced back up at him. ”If I’m not pushing boundaries by asking, what were you doing in a storm like that, sir? It’s not exactly a gentle storm. A wolf could lose their life, out there. It’s practically a white out.” She told him as she looked back to the cave opening, once more completely decorated by the ivory snow. You couldn’t see two feet in front of it.

As the smile appeared upon the fae's maw, the brute gave a lopsided grin, and joined her, folding his snow encrusted legs underneath the thick mass of fur that covered his body, and he gently leaned against the wall of the cave, enjoying the comfortably solid, yet simple support it offered, and he could rest sore body. Distracted from his momentary rest, he responded to her words. "The pleasure is mine, Heaven." The brute said, playing at being a gallant. One ear leaned ever so slightly closer as the fae continued. "True. I wouldn't have a peaceful conscious if I did that. Still, a good deed is a good deed." He said, managing to get it in right before answering her next query. "Not at all, miss. You see, I was wandering outside of my lands when the storm hit, so I was trying to look for shelter because I wouldn't make it back to my own den without turning into an icicle first." It was such a boring tale, but it was the truth, after all. The royal alpha had been on his way to to the gathering place for wolves, which happened to be where he was now. It was strange, but a coincedence all the same.

The young she-wolf laid her head upon her paws, watching the brute as he lowered himself to the ground, resting slightly against the cave wall. She laughed softly, at his words, and shook her head, letting the greetings finish with that statement, before she nodded to his next words. "Very true, Loki. But good deeds are better to go unnoticed, or you risk the possibility of making what was once an innocent soul only preform such deeds for the credit, and undeserved heroism." Her words were teasing, as she smiled softly. She dipped her head softly, her ears perked, and directed towards him, as he answered her question, and the young femme nodded in response. "Snow storms do seem to have a way of coming when you least expect, and when you have no way to prepare for them." She said, with an amused grin, as she shifted, stretching her forelegs out in front of her, as she turned slightly, to look at him. "At least you were able to find shelter, before you turned into an icicle, right?" She asked, her tone teasing, and softly amused. "Your lands, you say? What lands were you coming from, and please do not expect me to recognize the name, I've only recently traveled to these lands, and haven't yet learned where... well, where anything is, honestly." Her confession came with a shy, embarrassed smile, as her ears fell slightly, before instantly perking up again. She fell silent, once more, this time, awaiting his reply.

[sorry for the long wait!] "Right you are, though a reward every once in a while wouldn't be to bad. Or, at least it seems like that to me." Loki said, his sentences longer now that he felt more at ease and he was no longer half-frozen. This fae was alright. Intelligent, he thought, and perhaps a bit witty. Time passed by peacefully, as he watched the snow outside begin to slow down, and soon, it was reduced to nothing but a snowflake here and there. "And then they seem to end as soon as you settle down somewhere to wait it out." He said, exaggerating an exasperated sigh. He had may as well make the sullen and dull cave's air a bit more lively. His expression was sympathetic as he spoke again. "Quite alright, Heaven. When I first arrived in these lands, it seemed quite hard to recognize any of the places anyone mentioned, though now I know the lands like the back of my paw. Anyway, back to your question. I rule over the Royal Distinto Caverns. I am a high king of sorts, so basically saying, I am the ruler of every pack wolf alive. Perhaps the non-living ones as well."

It was a slight smile that lit the young fae’s face, as Heaven nodded, barely able to contain a giggle. ”I suppose you do have a point… Besides, a reward is the best way to celebrate someone doing something right, anyways… Right?” The time passed with ease, between she and the male. And before long, the snow outside began to slow, as the storm finally began to pass. She laughed softly at his comments, as she turned a slight grin in his direction. ”Indeed, they do… Shame too… They never last long enough for one to enjoy the calmness, and the beauty that comes with such a wild storm.” She giggled softly, as she curled her tail around her ivory, thick furred form.
She wrinkled her nose slightly, at the sympathetic look he wore, but wrote it off as nothing… She nodded, with a polite smile, at his words, listening as he spoke, before a subtle shock echoed across her ivory façade, and hung in her surprised blue eyes, when she realized just what he meant, by High King. She was talking to the Ruler of the Wolves. They highest ranked wolf in these lands, and you could tell by the shocked expression that she wore, she was not expecting to run into a wolf like he. ”Quite hard indeed. Everything is so unfamiliar. I fear just stepping a few steps will get me lost, most of the time…” She admitted, with a shy, sweet, smile. ”Wait… I’ve heard that name. Royal Distinto Caverns…” You could tell by the expression she wore, she was having a hard time, getting past this new tidbit of information… It’s not every day you learn that you are talking to the wolf of wolves. The King of Kings. The alpha of alphas… or what ever. ”So, you’re basically the wolf in charge of all others? The highest ranked alpha, right?”
Now, here was a time to worry. Heaven didn’t deal well with high ranked wolves. But lucky for Loki, he’d been kind thus far. Had he even shown the slightest possibility of being rude, or being dominant over the sweet, shy Heaven… it would be Hell he’d be dealing with. But, like I said. He was lucky. Because, while Hell was lurking beneath Heaven’s in charge personality, it was still Heaven in control. And Hell wasn’t someone anyone wanted to meet.
Heaven finally nodded her head, before tilting her head to the side slightly, her ears flicking down with a mixture of curiosity and nervousness. ”If I’m not overstepping boundaries, what’s it like.. to be… High King, as you put it.” She asked, still as polite as ever, and the curiosity bubbling inside her. Her eyes shined softly, the blue brightening, as she waited for him to speak now. Her words have been spoken, and now, the ball was in his court.

"...and the cold" The alpha added, attempting to make a joke out of his earlier one. Staying silent through the rest of her words, he pondered her questions, trying to think of the shortest summary he could giive, without leaving out to much. Being High King was alright, he thought. But most of the time, the 'loyal subjects' that kneeled before him, their every word sickeningly sugar-coated and oozing honey. It was annoying, watching them watch his every move, their eyes filled with greed at the thought of power. And so they threw away the little pride and honesty that they had, groveling before him. they royal alpha was sure that he had no true friends within his own pack. It was lonely up there at the top, expecially without a beloved queen ruling at his side. "I don't mind. It passes the time anyway." He said, pausing before he continued, with the thoughts he had just thought in his mind. "It's alright, I guess. But it's not nearly as fun and games like as everyone seems to think these days. It's quite lonely up there, even with the busy and noisy life that most of us lead in the pack. Most who know who I am, especially within the packs tend to grovel, in an attempt to get me to grant them an important position." This fae deserved to know, as she had not bowed or groveled when she heard his title. "Like I would give a position of trust to one who feeds me lies." He paused before continuing "But there are several exceptions, and those are the wolves I need, not some weak-hearted fools who can't do anything but mewl their complaints to me daily. I want the truly loyal, strong and clever wolves. I can almost see why the equines think their superior to wolves." He said, a breif expression of disdain and disgust marring his handsome face for the fleetest of moments. quickly setting the friendly expression back in place, the alpha looked back at Heaven. "Anything else I can help you with?"

The white wolf laughed, shaking her head, as her bright blue eyes twinkled softly. ”Indeed… and the cold.” She agreed, grinning at the alpha. He was a different sort of creature. Not like any she had met yet… Mind you, she’d met a lot of different males, too. And not all of those did she wish to… remember. And, thanks to Hell; she’d never have to be forced through any of that again… Though, she might never realize that Hell was residing in her mind. After all, you can’t have Heaven, without Hell, right? The little white wolf nodded, as she listened to him speak, wishing she could relate to his words, though the little wolf had always been put in a rule of submission, rather than dominance… Something she’d never let happen to herself again. Not that this brute needed to know just what she’d been put through…
”It must be terribly lonely, indeed.” Her voice was softer, as she spoke, trying to wrap her mind around all he had told her. It was indeed, a sad occasion when even those with the power, who are suppose to derive companionship from their followers… feels lonely. She shifted, sitting up, as she looked at him, ”I would never expect it to be fun and games. It’s a position of power, and importance. It’s all about knowing how to interact with other wolves, how to use your dominance and power to help others, settle disputes, and know when to punish, and when to merely tell off. For one to expect such a role to be fun and games, they must not know the real trials that go behind having any power at all.” She might have always be put into a submissive position, by abusive males that used their power for ill, but that didn’t mean she didn’t know the way an alpha should act… She’s just never seen one who used power for good… Though, maybe Loki was one of those types? The white fae nodded slightly at his mention of groveling for positions. ”It must be hard, trying to pick out the ones you can trust as friends from the ones who only use you for what they can gain from you…” She’d seen many a faes throw themselves at alphas to get what they wanted. She’d seen many a males bow and grovel… Some even bowing and groveling for a night with he- She shook the thought from her night. She’d vowed not to remember any of that…
”Equines might think they are superior… but they’ll never have the same structure as a pack has.” She nudged the male’s shoulder, gently; with her muzzle, as she added, ”And, it’s better to have wolves that you can trust at your back, then wolves who could easily turn away when trouble arises, with tails tucked between their legs.” The little wolfess sighed, shrugging slightly, ”Mind you, my words are only speculations… I wouldn’t really know what it’s like to live in a decent pack.” decent pack. Probably the only mention the wolf would ever get of the hell she’d been put through in some of her earlier packs.
The alpha’s expression turned friendly again, as he glanced back towards the little she-wolf, and Heaven shrugged slightly at his words, as she shook her coat slightly, her attention turning towards the slowing storm outside. ”Umm, not really, I don’t think…” She glanced back at Loki, and offered him a slight smile, ”I’ve not very good with the whole being social thing… I’ve never been around other wolves that often.” Her smile turned bitter sweet. Of course she wasn’t around other wolves, she’d been turned into a toy, a little slave, by that alpha. Nothing more than a toy for him to play with. And he’d made sure no other wolf could get to her. And the alpha before him… well, at least that one was nicer, and kept her happier… But… still she was never able to go out and socialize… As shocking as it might be, the poor little wolfess simply didn’t know just how to react to other wolves. Sure, she could spot a dominant brute from a mile away… but, how to react with wolves… Not at all. ”Tell me, if you would; what your pack is like?” She asked, suddenly… curious of what it would be like to actually live in a pack… Well, a pack where she was an actual member, not some sex slave for the alpha to do what he wished to… She was lucky some of the things he did never scarred her, physically or emotionally.
But that was part of the past…. The past she had no desire to ever remember.

[gah, I don't mind if you slap me for being such a procrastinater when it comes to posting xDD]
Loki simply nodded as the fae spoke. Here was one that had good ideals, and it was good for him to have some intelligent conversation every once in a while. Brown eyes watched the fae's expression as she said decent pack. What on earth had happened to her? But Loki wasn't one to pry, so he remained silent, though his intrest, had once again, been perked. "True enough. Though I must give them a little credit, as our war has lasted this long." War. The word made the Alpha feel a bit angry. Look what war had done to his pack. The empire he was supposed to inherit, to cherish, to live for. It was nothing but a wasteland now, all because some stupid retainers wanted to own their own handful of soil. He breifly departed from those thoughts to answer Heaven's question. "I would say from my point of view, that the pack is a quite happy one, if not a bit power-hungry. I can trust most of the wolves in my pack with my life. The cavern has a rather bright atmosphere, the pack runs as one, and everyone is allowed to say what they think. It's the other packs that I don't trust as much."

It wasn’t something the fae was used to, having some one’s complete attention as she spoke… Or better yet, being allowed to speak so freely at all… It’d been a long time since she’d been allowed to do that. She flushed slightly as she caught the subtle curiousity in his brown eyes, at her comment on a ‘decent pack’ and quickly dropped her gaze, relieved he wasn’t one to question what had happened… Because, the answer, was too much… Too much had happened. And it had almost lost her, the wild, fighting soul she carried deep, deep down inside her. She listened as he spoke, her muzzle wrinkling at the thought of war, while in the corner of the shared mind, Hell bristled with excitement though none of Hell’s emotions were obvious in the pretty, yet delicate fae. ”I, in all honesty, do not see why everyone is so focused on the war. Thousands of years ago, horses and wolves would have lived in peace, side by side. How is today any different. All war is, is an excuse to shed blood, and hurt others… A justification for tearing apart families, and destroying thousands of lives, and crushing the very souls of those caught in the midst of a battle.” And they didn’t just lose their souls from death. Look at those who could become slaved in the midst of the war. Having once been a slave herself, the fae knew exactly what could happen to those in that sort of position. But the alpha didn’t need to know of that.
He soon was speaking again, the alpha Loki, answering her question, and Heaven fought to keep the wonder from her gaze. A pack that supported each other. A true pack? Heaven, herself, hadn’t experienced that since before she was stolen the first time. And with each steal, the pack she’d been taken into got worse, and worse. So pardon the fact she didn’t dare believe his words to be 100% true. Surely, even Loki’s pack had skeletons in the closet. ”Any wolf who isn’t a tad power-hungry, is but a submissive wolf.” Like me. Or wise. Submissive or Wise, though Heaven had long ago been taught by abusive, power-hungry, demanding alphas that all faes were to be submissive to which ever wolf approached them. That they were nothing, but a tool to make the species denser. ”It sounds like an interesting place. You’re lucky to have such a home, Loki.” She praised herself, mentally, at having been able to keep the wishing out of her voice. She might wish for a pack like that… but, fear of repeat performances kept her strong to her latest idea of No more pack life. Not for her. Not ever. As amazing as a pack might sound, she’s heard such pretty words before, and those words had turned out as false as the male who’d spoke them… and despite how nice Loki seemed… she wasn’t quite ready to make that leap again.
