The Mountains (neck) The mountains of Belleza Isle are to the far west and run wide in jagged peaks.Fresh springs are abundant here, though other foliage is limited due to the unpredictable weather of these peaks. It isn't uncommon for it to be storming and blizzarding here while the rest of the island is in peace. I, Ironhide, declare them off limits to all horses- and if you value your life you will respect this decision.
The Thick Woods (ears) These woods provide great shelter to the herd in times of need. The canopys above are so thick that very little light gets through, which means that snow, rain, and hail are blocked out. This also means that there is not a lot of greenery growing down below, so most food found here is off the trees and sturdy shrubs that thrive in a dim climate. The trunks of the trees here are very thick- almost as wide as a horses body- and rise over 600 feet high.
The Forests (chin, jaw, & forehead It is often members of the herd- and even foals- gather here to lounge the day away. The trees here are not very tall with thin trunks, offering various kinds of fruits ; papaya, apples, pears, mango, and such. The grass here is short and light green and often has dew clinging to it.
The Fields (cheeks & muzzle) The grass here varies from short to tall depending on how close you are to the mountains- the closer you are the taller it grows.Herd members may come here to run, play, sunbathe or graze.
The Beach (the nose & lips) Foals are not allowed here without the supervision of an adult, as the waves can get high when nature permits them.On nice days the herd members may gather here to run in the shallows and roll int he warm sands.
